Riva Arun, Bangkok

Located right by the river in an old town, this new hotel stands out like no other structure in the vicinity. This boutique hotel provides a spectacular view over the wat arun and the Grand Palace.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was small but definitely comfy as we were greeted with the ‘Chino Colonial” feel which are apparent in the carved wood interior and the decorative ironwork.

They have a wide array of amenities including coffee plunger and a full menu of pillows for selection (this is what I usually expect from luxury hotels)!

Dinner over at Above Riva was surprising good and the panoramic view from the restaurant over the river was stunning, especially during sunset.

Travelling to the famous attractions like Wat Pho, Wat Arun and Grand Palace were easy via Express boats and Sky Train’s Saphan Taksin BTS station. If you just want to lay back and enjoy, and not worry about the itinerary, you can engage the hotel to provide personalised experience tours and excursion.

Returning to the room after a long day of sightseeing, immersing in rich cultural activities and food gobbling, you will truly appreciate the quality of bed that the hotel provides. Everything blended in seamlessly as my short trip came to an end. I will definitely revisit the hotel again!
