When I went there, it was more than 50% full. Lychee Rose RM$15 Flowery rose tea, rose, lychee, rosemary, soda Hato Patisserie presents an utterly delightful range of specially crafted drinks. This one was off the charts! It was perfection in a cup. The olfactory-scape is complex but subtle and delicate. When you hold the cup to your nose, you can smell the delicate fragrance of rose, the flowers and just a hint of the more sombre rosemary. The drink itself is a perfectly harmonious blend of rose, lychee and the slight zest of soda. Overall, the drink felt Japanese and I think it wins the prize of best non-alcoholic drink I have EVER had so far. Porky Bowl RM$21 Homemade char siu with sunny side up & siew pak choy What a cheery bowl. The char siu is definitely interesting. It does not have the icky, fake red dye but retains the taste of char siu. The char siu was tender and quite lean. Homemade Tagliatelle with Chicken Katsu and Japanese Curry I had high hopes for this as supposedly, their pasta is housemade. It certainly did not disappoint. It tastes so fresh and that texture, that springiness was to die for. I never thought I could have such world-class pasta here in Johor Bahru. C&C RM$18 Chocolate cremeux, almond sponge, coffee ganache Very chocolaty. Should be a hit with ladies. Affogato RM$18 I love affogato and I have had my fair share of affogatos, but this has got to be the prettiest affogato I have seen. I almost couldn’t bear to eat it … but I did (sly grin). Hato Patisserie is run by Jonathan and Mei Yen, a duo with Japanese fusion culinary experience and it shows. Each dish I tried was of the highest quality. I really can’t find fault with anything. Hato Patisserie No 01-15, Block F, Komersil Southkey Mozek, Persiaran Southkey 1, Kota Southkey Johor Bahru Tel: 012-789 5995"}
