The 5-star prettiness begins as soon as you turn into the driveway. When one enters the lobby, one is struck by the pretty bird cage installations hanging from the ceilings. The rich opulent colours complemented by the dark wood of the cages give the lobby an undeniable sense of luxury. I was told they change the installations every 3 months which makes it refreshing for frequent guests.<\/p>\n

Mandarin Oriental Bangkok is one of the oldest hotels in Asia. The original wing (then known as Oriental Hotel) was built in 1876. The pretty quaintness extends everywhere in this hotel. Everywhere you turn in this hotel, there is a pretty corner that beckons you to sit down and revel in the luxury.<\/p>\n

The prettiest of all corners is the Author’s Lounge, the location of Mandarin Oriental’s popular afternoon high tea. The Author’s Lounge is also a popular location for bridal shoots in Bangkok.<\/p>\n

The other side is where the gym, spa and Thai restaurant Sala Rim Naam are located. The gym has one of the best changing rooms we have seen. The changing room has a jaccuzi, steam room, sauna as well as lounge chairs where one can sit back, relax and read a magazine. The changing room is very clean.<\/p>\n

The breakfast spread is one of the largest variety we have seen.<\/p>\n
