All Day Breakfast at Halal Hipster Hotspot @ Rochor MRT – Steep, Singapore (Promo offer included)
It was a Monday morning. While everybody went to the office, depressed and broken, I decided to cheer myself up by treating myself to a really good breakfast somewhere quiet, far from the CBD desperation to please bosses on a Monday morning.
I decided on steep, a halal monochrome-chic hipster hotspot located at 32 Dunlop Street (literally 3 minutes by foot from Rochor MRT Exit B).

When I arrived, the cafe was empty. 5 minutes later, the hipsters/ influencers arrived. I can understand why. The black and white interior lends itself very well to food shots and showcasing of ootd.
White Coffee $5 (5oz)
I started with a White Coffee. I really needed one and it did a good job jolting me awake.
Tip: Each of steep’s cold brew is $7 but if you get the Cold Brew Bundle at $28, you get 4+1 cold brews.

I didn’t expect the portion to be so big. All the items were very well executed and I really can’t find fault with any of them.
Mushroom Toast $12
Sourdough, edam, mushrooms, poached egg, tomato relish
steep has Mushroom Toast but if you want to treat yourself, you may want to get the Eggs Royale.
Eggs Royale $16
Sourdough, smoked salmon, baby spinach, poached eggs, hollandaise
Once again, it was very competently executed. The Hollandaise sauce was rich and the savoriness of the smoked salmon and the umami of the egg yolks melded together nicely. The sourness of the vinaigrette provided crucial balance.
Besides breakfast items, steep has some pasta options too.
Aglio Olio $16
Linguine, tiger prawns, mushrooms, garlic confirm, chilli, Italian parsley
The portion was huge and the colours are beautiful. It arrived hot and garlicky (as it should be). The linguine was perfectly al dente.
I should say that they did the mushrooms really well. Whenever I saute white button mushrooms at home, I always overdo it and they end up shrivelled and all the water comes out of them. The mushrooms in this plate are big, firm and glorious.
