Seven Spoons, Bangkok
Located a mere 5 minutes’ walk from the junction of Chakkrapatipong Road and Lan Luang Road, in a cosy quaint double shophouse – you’ll find Seven Spoons. Renowned for its Mediterranean and vegetarian food, Seven Spoons recently expanded due to popular demand.
With appetizing food and low prices that will make you think it’s too good to be true, it’s no wonder that Seven Spoons is such a rare find and clearly deserves to be considered one of the best restaurants in the city.
It’s interior décor further adds to the appeal, with its double-height ceilings and a retro bar with glitzy mirrors hanging behind the long line of bottles, the place has a feeling of intimacy which is perfect for a date night. Don’t be fooled by the description, despite how cosy it can feel, the restaurant is still spacious enough for everyone.
If you’re wondering what else Seven Spoons is famous for, it is their signature cocktails. ‘Seven Spoons’ is a fiery blend of Martini bianco, spiced rum, lime and galangal. Of course, if you’re not a fan of trying new things, there’s the usual drinks such as mojitos, cosmos and slings. For non-alcohol lovers, don’t worry, there’s something for you as well! Their range of mocktails is just as creative. ‘That’s Right!’ is a fresh and unique mixture of passion fruit and pineapple juice infused with sweet basil that leaves a lingering aftertaste of fragrant herbs. The bartender is passionate about his work and loves to experience, so if you’re lucky, you might get the chance to try a signature drink not even on the menu!
Seven Spoons knows that not everyone likes vegetarian food, so there’s great choices for meat lovers too. Unfortunately, we can’t recommend which dishes to get as Seven Spoons ingredients are sourced according to seasons and focus greatly on supporting local produce, which means that some dishes may be unavailable. This was a minor let down during our visit, but given that we still talk about the food we eventually ate there, it’s safe to say the disappointment didn’t last long.
Ever since our first visit, Seven Spoons has quickly become one of our favourite places in the city. The location may be slightly out of your way, but amidst the hustle and bustle of busy Bangkok, it’s nice to fine a quiet yet charming place to unwind. If you’re looking at taking a taxi (which is advisable if you stay in central Bangkok), bear in mind the traffic can get pretty bad in the evening.
Seven Spoons, is a one-of-a-kind place with amazing food and an unforgettable atmosphere, it’ll leave you wanting more the moment you leave the place; comforting, full of flavour and a little bit over the top – you won’t want to miss visiting this restaurant.
