The seating of Deutschlander is divided into inside and outside.  Outside (albeit sheltered, so you need not worry about rain), you are entertained by the band.  Inside, over the speakers, they play familiar covers.  Skip Naked $18 Gin, lime juice, grenadine, wiessbier If you find beer boring (not me) or incomprehensible (me), fear not.  They have interesting beer cocktails that go easily to your head. (Yes, you get high easily). Beer Flight $22 5 glasses of 0.1 l, original Munich lager, Munich Dunkel, Hefe-Weissbier, Hefe- Weissbier Dunkel, Paulaner Seasonal Beer Everyone seems to come for their beers, and they do have quite a few for you to choose from.  If you are undecided, like me, or want to have it all, like me, then Beer Flight is the solution.   For $22, you get to enjoy a sampler portion (0.1 l) for the beers they have. Good value and fun it was! Pretzel & Butter $3 Creamy Potato $10 Fresh Herbs and Crispy Bacon Bits It certainly was creamy. The bacon bits add that bit of crisp, that bit of fried fat, that bit of umami. Crispy Pork Knuckle HALF – $23 | FULL – $35 With Sauerkraut, Bread Dumpling, Tasty Beer Gravy Yes, the portion is huge.  Yes, it is deep-fried, so it can be quite full and satisfying.  Thankfully, the sauerkraut and the berry sauce balance it out.  I have to say though, even though it’s deep fried, they did quite a good job —— it was thoroughly cooked through (there are no red, bloody bits), yet the meat wasn’t too tough and it wasn’t greasy.  So they did a good job balancing out the various requirements while executing it. “Munich style” Schnitzel $26 Breaded and Buttered Deep Fried Porkloin Served with Greens, Dijon Mustard, Potato Salad and Lemon Wedge I like the “crunchy” breaded crust. Munich Braised Beef $26 Slow-Cooked Braised Beef in Red Wine Gravy Served with Bread Dumpling and Sautéed Vegetables They must have braised the beef for a reeeeeeaaaaaaally long time (I mean that in a good way), cos the beef is COMPLETELY penetrated by the flavour.  The chef is skilful and knows what he is doing though, for the vegetables still retain their crisp.  Try pairing the braised beef with their house pour Cabernet Sauvignon.  From Chile, it was big, bold and DELICIOUS.  They have a 1-for-1 promotion for their housepours and spirits. Do the math; it’s worth it. Lava – Stone Grilled Australian Lamb Chops $36 With Mashed Potato, Provincial Vegetable and Garlic Bread Thankfully, the lamb was free of that sour stench that some lambs have. Fresh Bavarian Apple Pie $12 In Beer Batter, with Vanilla Ice Cream and Fresh Mint This one was quite interesting.  It came very hot, so it contrasted well with the ice-cream. The Famous Kaiserschmarrn $12 Special Pancake Caramelized with Raisins and Almonds, Served with Homemade Apple Jelly Both the Kaiserschmarrn and the apple pie came piping hot, I am really thankful for that.  Having piping hot desserts just make them so satisfying ends to a good meal.  Deutschlander is certainly convivial.  The tables fill up easily, even on week nights.  The clientele is white-collared professionals, young, yuppie couples and tourists.  With the relaxed, cut-loose vibe, very affordable prices for both alcohol and food, I can see why.
