Cafe 5, Kuala Lumpur The waffles here are carefully made by the owner, Mr Trent, himself.  Since he is always in the café, that means everything in the café is done to his exacting standards.  That translates to a quality experience for the customer. The Barn (Pavilion Bukit Bintang), Kuala Lumpur Chef Brandon takes care in executing his dishes.  His competence really shows.  Each dish that comes out is of high quality.  That is even more commendable considering that this restaurant is in the shopping district catering to a lot of one-off tourists. Sedap, Kuala Lumpur The service here is the best I have seen in Kuala Lumpur.  They always provide excellent, genuine service, even though they must be tired.  Wow.  The cuisine is solid too. Zipangu, Kuala Lumpur Shangri-la is our favourite hotel group and Shangri-la Kuala Lumpur is the best hotel we have seen, even to this day!  The excellence extends to their restaurants.  Each dish, the ambience, the service is of the highest quality.  There is nothing I can pick on.  Shang Palace, Kuala Lumpur Shang Palace is the Chinese restaurant of Shangri-la Kuala Lumpur.  What is said for Zipangu above also applies to Shang Palace.  Shang Palace is patronised by the city’s elite and wealthy businessmen. Sasso Rosso, Kuala Lumpur This is a restaurant helmed by a chef-owner.  I loved this sort of restaurants where the owner is also the chef because that usually means the owner-chef is very hands on about the cuisine and the cuisine is excellent as a result.  That is definitely true here.  Thirty8, Kuala Lumpur Thirty8, on top of the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur, offers 360 degree panoramic views of the city.  I don’t usually like all-day dining restaurants but the dishes are of a very high standard.  Add to that a great view, well, why not? Ciccio, Kuala Lumpur Ciccio is a really memorable restaurant for me.  It is located in the party, touristy strip. Yet the cuisine adheres strictly to quality.  It shows in the clientele. Compared to other restaurants along the same strip, Ciccio attracts a quieter clientele.
