I have never liked buffets.\u00a0 I tend to over-eat and the quality is never that great.\u00a0 In other words, never very good value for money.\u00a0 Azur has left a different impression on me, however.\u00a0 It is my favourite buffet so far.<\/p>\n

The buffet has a good mix of Asian and Western dishes—there is Chinese, Western Roast, Chinese roast, Japanese (cold soba, sushi, sashimi), Indian, Italian, Indonesian etc.<\/p>\n

The oysters, clams, mussels\u00a0 are all very fresh.<\/p>\n

The mushroom soup was very competently done.<\/p>\n

Seafood Jumbalaya\u2014there were many tiger prawns and mussels in it and they were very fresh.<\/p>\n

There was also Fish fillet in Mango Passionfruit, Beef Stew, a cheese selection, crab and a Chinese <\/i>roast station.<\/p>\n

One pleasant surprise at the buffet was the availability of Drunken Prawn.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t had Drunken Prawns in years.\u00a0 Drunken Prawns is a dish where live prawns are brought to the table and they are drowned in a bowl of wine and soy sauce.\u00a0 Through the transparent glass bowl, you can see the prawns flapping around \u2026 and then stop.\u00a0 The Drunken Prawns here are big and fresh.\u00a0 The stock they come in is OUTSTANDING—rich but clear, and full of the goodness of gogi aka wolfberry, reed dates and other wonderful Chinese herbs.<\/p>\n
