Dorsett Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

Dorsett Kuala Lumpur occupies a most advantageous location. Her neighbours are Westin and Ritz Carlton. It is just across the road from the gigantic Pavilion mall.

The 20 year old hotel has completed a refurbishment and you really can’t tell that it is 20 years old.

The decor of the room is modern chinoiserie-lite. The backbone of the colour scheme is champagne, which gives the room a subtle, glamourous feel without screaming ostentation.

The room is very clean and spacious. Which hotel room nowadays can accommodate a spacious 2-seater sofa and there is plenty of space of left? The shower stall is also very spacious.

I love using the toiletries provided here. The chinoiserie-lite motifs decorate the ample tubes. One whiff of the white tea shampoo/ bath gel and I am immediately whisked away to the romantic Orient….

There is a pool on Level 4 where you can get a tan while in tropical KL. For busy business travellers, they have considerately made the gym available 24 hours.

Breakfast is served in Checkers Cafe on Level 1. There is a huge variety consisting of Western and Asian breakfast staples.

Guests who stay 3 nights or more can stay in the residences block right next door. The decor is modern and the apartments are very clean.

I am amazed the residences come with a lot of storage, an induction cooking hob, an oven and even a washing machine! Another plus point if you stay in the residences is that you can to use the rooftop swimming pool with amazing unblocked view of the Petronas Towers. Priceless!
