Auriga Spa, Capella, Singapore

Auriga Spa is clean and offers facilities such as herbal steam room, ice rub, hot stone chair, jacuzzi and hot/cold therapy.

Each treatment room overlooks a well-kept garden and that is calming.

After treatment, you are brought to a relaxation lounge where you enjoy tea, dates, nuts and a vibration lounge chair.  The dates are a nice touch.

I tried the Senja Sunyi Massage (90 mins, SGD$230 + 7% sales tax).  This massage incorporates Chinese Tui Na and Javanese massage techniques with the application of a rose and pomegranate body balm.  What’s unique is that warm “Moon” stones (they just look like marble balls the size of golf balls) are rolled up and down your body.

I had slept very little the night before and so, I was eager to relax and get to sleep.  The bed was suitably firm and they had the circle where you rest your head.  Instead of looking the at floor or the therapist’s feet, they place a bowl of water on the floor with a few green leaves in it.  A calming, nice touch.  The therapist seemed to know what she was doing and so, I just drifted off quite quickly.

Interestingly, after the massage, I felt like crying.  I also felt some sensation in my kidney area.  I had heard that anger is stored in the liver and sadness in the kidneys. The massage must be quite effective if it managed to dislodge (somewhat) deeply held emotions and toxins.  For that, I would recommend this massage to others to try it.

Once again, Auriga Spa is clean, which is so important to me.
