The Majestic Spa, The Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur
Top Spa in Kuala Lumpur
In the competitive spa industry, The Majestic Spa stands out for its unusual concept, decor, excellent skills and cleanliness.
The spa is housed in an Art Deco building beside the Majestic Wing. Right away, that is a marked difference from the other players in the market which usually have rustic Asian/ Balinese decors. Here, Patsy Cline and Ella Fitzgerald oldies play in the reception of the spa. There is a swimming pool right outside.
I tried their totally decadent and original English Afternoon Tea treatment. I never had a spa treatment inspired by yummy food before. Haha!
ENGLISH AFTERNOON TEA
2 Hrs RM700++
The quintessential tradition of afternoon tea is honoured in this experience. Anna, Duchess of Bedford, is said to have created the idea of afternoon tea, having complained of suffering “that sinking feeling” between breakfast and dinner. She began taking a pot of tea and a light snack in her boudoir at Woburn Abbey. Later, after returning to London, invitation cards were sent to her friends to join her for snacks, tea and walks in the fields. Social hostesses picked up on this practice and before long all of fashionable society was sipping tea and nibbling cakes and berries in the middle of the afternoon. We begin our English Afternoon with an antioxidant berries and moisture rich cream scrub followed by the sweet smell of a garden berries oil massage and brilliantly topped off with a fragrant English rose natural facial.
• Blackberries and Cream Scrub

First, I was brought up to the balcony overlooking the pool. There were a row of lounge chairs, each with a beautiful, porcelain Victorian footbath. My therapist poured warm lavender water from an equally ornate porcelain Victorian jug into my footbath. I soaked my feet into the water. It felt so good! My very tight calf muscles, as well as the rest of my body, relaxed. My therapist then proceeded to scrub off all the dead skin on my feet with a 5-herb foot scrub: rosemary, sage, thyme, mint and lavender. It felt so good to have my tired feet scrubbed and invigorated. Finally, after rinsing off the scrub, she gently took my feet and dried them with a very soft and thick towel. My feet were fresh, sanitized and new.
My therapist then led me to the therapy room, also in Art Deco style. It was also very clean. Now it’s time for an utterly delectable body scrub. The body scrub consisted of cream, rice grains, and garden berries. It felt so delicious, creamy and luxurious. I really did feel like I was a queen, like I was Marie Antoinette or something. I kept wanting to use my finger to swipe some of the delicious berry cream off my body and then lick it off with my finger. I resisted.
After a shower, it was time for my massage. I lay face down and my therapist massaged me all over with Garden Berries massage oil. It felt great. It was the best massage I had in KL. My therapist, a female, had no hesitation at all about going deep into my muscles and working out all the knots. The strokes were firm and the massage was thorough—-my entire body was worked through.
When that was done, a face mask was applied. The face mask was a mixture of sliced rose petals, honey, and rice flour. Again, it felt so yummy. I felt like royalty from days of yore where their beauty treatment consisted of totally nutritious and healthy ingredients. After a totally relaxing time absorbing the nourishing goodness into my face, the concoction was washed off. My therapist then spritzed Kerstin Florian rose water and applied a daily hydrator moisturizer on me. I was then ushered downstairs for my relaxing tea and cookie.
With is beautiful decor, excellent skills and one-of-a-kind inspired treatment, The Majestic Spa proves to be a destination in its own right.
