Airline Trip Reports,  Thai Airways

20160826 Thai Airways TG406 Singapore-Bangkok

For many Singaporeans, Bangkok is a shopping haven. A mere 2-hour flight away from our little red dot, it’s a little getaway that one can hop on over to over a long weekend. I was invited to media familiarization trip with Thai Airways, and was incredibly excited to be heading to Bangkok, and this time, on such an esteemed airline!

I haphazardly packed my bags for a few nights away, and on the day of departure, breezed through customs, all ready for my flight. The flight attendants very warmly welcomed me onto the flight, and I settled comfortably into my cushy designated seat in no time.

Slightly after taking off, a delicious smell wafted through the aircraft – the crew has started preparing our meals!

We were told that Thai Airway’s chefs create menus that best reflect the flavours of Thailand. They only use quality fresh produce sourced from Royal Projects in northern Thailand, who farms their produce sustainably. All meals are prepared only with the best and freshest of ingredients!

The Thai Fried Rice that was offered that day smelled amazing, and I chose it without hesitation. The piping hot dish was served with a warm toasted bun, a side of fresh salad, and a delectable sweet treat to end off the meal. You can also choose from a wide selection of wines, spirits, juices, and hot and cold beverages to be served with your meal.

After devouring my meal, I decided to explore the inflight entertainment that Thai Airways has to offer.

I am a huge drama junkie, so I went straight to browsing through the dramas they have to offer. I was pleasantly surprised that the latest season of New Girl was airing, and binged on the episodes. Thai Airway’s entertainment is always up-to-date, and with over 1,000 hours of movies, short films, games, music, news and information, everyone will be kept entertained throughout the flight.

When the captain announced that we were about to land, I felt a tinge of disappointment. I was excited to start my shopping spree, but having to leave behind the comforts that Thai Airways offered. If anything, I am already looking forward to my flight back to Singapore on Thai Airways!
