Bite Into Delicious Bites @ Bangkok Bites, Singapore
As the number of neighborhood Thai eateries increases, it becomes increasingly convenient to satisfy your Thai food cravings without the need to jet off to Bangkok.
For residents in the Queenstown area, Bangkok Bites is conveniently located on Strathmore Avenue, right at the heart of the community.
Despite its presence, this Thai eatery remains relatively under-the-radar, with scarce mentions on food blogs.
Bangkok Bites adopts a theme of casual, no-fuss dining. This translates into a modest interior, characterized by plain walls and popular faux-wood tables, though they do boast a pleasant bar counter.
The restaurant occupies three units, offering a decent amount of space. However, during peak dinner hours, it can get rather crowded, thanks to its growing reputation through word-of-mouth.
True to the Thai dining experience, the menu predominantly features family-style dishes meant for sharing. You’ll find a wide range of familiar favorites, including soups, curries, vegetables, and various meat and seafood stir-fries
Thai Lemongrass Tea $3
This tea is strong, which is good. The lemongrass flavour definitely comes through. I went to another affordable Thai eatery and all their food, desserts and drinks are all watered down.
Thai Red Milk Tea $3
This tea was strong too, and very delicious. You can taste the mild cooling bitterness of the tea which was exactly what I was looking for.
Handmade Thai Prawn Cake $10.80
The Handmade Thai Prawn Cake was a delightful appetizer that left a lasting impression. Priced at a reasonable $10.80, this dish showcased the chef’s skill in crafting flavorful Thai delicacies.

Deep Fried Fish with Thai Chilli Sauce $21.80
The first thing that caught my attention was the presentation. The deep-fried fish was impeccably crispy on the outside while retaining its succulent and flaky texture on the inside. It was generously smothered in a Thai chilli sauce that offered a harmonious balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors.
The sauce itself was a highlight – it had just the right amount of heat to tantalize the palate without overwhelming the delicate taste of the fish. The addition of fresh herbs and aromatic spices in the sauce elevated the dish to another level, providing a burst of authentic Thai flavors.
The portion size was substantial, making it an ideal choice for sharing among friends or family. The dish’s value for money was evident, considering the quality of the ingredients and the delectable taste it offered.
Stir fry Brocolli with Monkey Head Mushrooms $11.80
The Stir-Fried Broccoli with Monkey Head Mushrooms was a delightful vegetarian dish that truly exceeded my expectations. Priced at an affordable $11.80, this dish offered a wonderful combination of flavors and textures.
One of the first things that stood out was the vibrant presentation. The broccoli was perfectly stir-fried to retain its crispness and vibrant green color, providing a satisfying crunch with every bite. The inclusion of Monkey Head Mushrooms added a unique and earthy dimension to the dish, making it a standout vegetarian option.
The sauce used for stir-frying was a masterpiece on its own. It was a harmonious blend of savory and umami flavors, which complemented the natural tastes of the vegetables and mushrooms without overpowering them. The overall balance of the dish was exceptional.
Portion-wise, it was just right, offering a satisfying portion for one person or as a delightful side dish for sharing. Considering the quality of ingredients and the delightful taste, the price of $11.80 felt like a steal.

The Seafood Combo was a seafood lover’s dream come true.
First and foremost, the variety on this plate was impressive. It featured a succulent crayfish, tender lala (clams), plump prawns, and perfectly cooked squid. Each element was expertly prepared, showcasing the chef’s commitment to quality.
The standout feature of this dish was undoubtedly the freshness of the seafood. Every bite was a testament to the restaurant’s dedication to sourcing the finest ingredients. The crayfish was sweet and juicy, the lala brimming with briny goodness, the prawns firm and flavorful, and the squid delightfully tender.
The accompanying sauce elevated the experience even further. It was a delectable blend of flavors that enhanced the natural taste of the seafood without overpowering it. Whether you preferred a dip or a drizzle, the sauce complemented the seafood beautifully.
