Sister cafe to Revelry in Bukit Timah, Early Bird Cafe offers brunch items all day, every day in the hip enclave of Kampong Glam.

Kampong Glam is traditionally known as the Arab quarter and today consists of many cafes and hostels.  Nearby is Haji Lane (and its wall murals), which is where hip locals and tourists flock to.

Located right off Victoria Street, you just can’t miss Early Bird Cafe if you zoom down Victoria Street —- Early Bird Cafe has an eye-catching yellow and dark grey wall mural on its exterior.

Early Bird Cafe offers outdoor seating and indoor air-conditioned seating.  The ambience inside is bright and airy.

Chicken and Pancakes $19

Fried chicken on house-made buttermilk pancakes served with chilli maple

I didn’t actually want to order this as it feels so fattening, but I was told this is their signature dish.  Thankfully,  the fried chicken was not very greasy and with the sweetness of the pancakes for balance, it was OK. 

Salmon & Avo $22

Sous vide miso salmon and avocado served with quinoa edamame salad

Light and healthy.  I like the attention to detail—- the sliced cucumber was unwxpwctesly thankfully pickled.  The sourness balances the items and wheta your appetite for more.

Strawberry and Cheese $17

French toast stuffed with cream cheese, served with berry coulis, fresh strawberries and cookie crumble

Singaporeans love sweet brunch items such as this.
