Guide to Korean/ Yakiniku Restaurants in Singapore
Captain Kim BBQ & Hotpot
This is a buffet but they have cooked food too. All your fave Korean food is here (rice cakes, fried chicken wings). The quality of the beef and seafood is top-notch.
Wang Dae Bak Pocha BBQ
The side dishes almost steal the show here, almost. The Chestnut Duroc Pork Belly would have been usurped if it had not been so sweet and delicious. The beef is great too. The service is excellent — they grill the meat for you and they are attentive and detailed while doing it.
Hey! Yakiniku
Hey! Yakiniku’s location cannot be beaten. It is located in Bugis Junction, right opposite the National Library. They use electric grills so no smoke, smell nor soot. They have cooked rice bowls and bentos, in case you are fed up with grilling for your kids.
Wakuwaku Yakiniku
Wakawaku Yakiniku is halal but has a Japanese chef. You know what that means — the Japanese chef does everything to Japanese (read: extremely high) standards. They have eel too, which is increasingly rare in Singapore.
Yeyak Korean Restaurant
This restaurant is different — there is absolutely no BBQ here. What, no BBQ? So what do they serve? Home-style dishes your favourite ajumma would make.
