Lan Ting, The Azure Qiantang, Hangzhou
Located on the 23rd floor of the beautiful The Azure Qiantang is the equally opulent Lan Ting. The cuisine showcases the authentic flavors of the Hangzhou, and is said to reflect the “five waters” elements of River, Canal, Lake, Ocean and Streams that surround Hangzhou. Some signature dishes are Tangxi Canal Bean Paste Cake, Pan-fried West Lake lotus root cake, HuadiaoShaoxing Yellow Wine steamed East Sea Sanmen Crab, Garlic Braised Qingjiang Eel and Jiuxi Stream Longjing Shrimp.
Cold appetiser platter:
Slow-Cooked Lotus Root Filled with Glutinous Rice and Rock Sugar. A traditional Shanghainese appetiser.

Crispy Roasted Pork, Yellow Mustard

Pea Starch Noodle Rolls Filled Vegetable with Sesame Sauce and Xo Chili Sauce. Exciting visually and to the taste buds.

Water Shield Soup with Mushroom,Crab Cream and Fish. Starchy and satisfying

Sauteed River Shrimp with”Long Jing”Tea, Traditional Hangzhou Style. A famous Hangzhou traditional dish.

Odontobutis Obscurus and Farm Egg stewed. The fish is white, fresh and free from any odour. I never imagined a fish dish could be so light.
Shanghaiese Braised Pork with Abalone & Sauteed Sweet Pea with Gorgon Fruit. The fat simply melts in your mouth. It was delicious!

Fried Rice with Crab and Caviar

Boiled Black Fungus and Vegetable Shoots in Tomato Soup. The soup was most unusual and creative. Kudos to the chef!

For excellent Chinese cuisine in an elegant environment, you can’t go wrong with Lan Ting.
