Local Cambodian Street Food, Phnom Penh

Pate and bread.

In the afternoon and evening, crusty baguettes, filled with your choice of meat pate and pickled vegetables can be bought from street hawkers for around 2000 riel.

Brutally frank:

The pate feels somewhat spam-like in texture.  It is definitely not like the pate we are exposed to in the Western world.  Nevertheless, the baguettes with pate are delicious.

Lotus dessert

This is quite, quite delicious – chocolate ice cream covered with a layer of shaved ice.  Evaporated milk is dripped all over the shaved ice and topped with lotus seeds.  Boss!
