Live Up The Good Life At Miska Cafe

Dear Diary,

I spent the most wonderful afternoon at Sentosa Cove today.

Firstly,  I took Bus 123 from Orchard Road to the end of the line. At the final station (Beach Station), I transferred to Sentosa’s complimentary orange Bus B to W Hotel.  Quayside Isles is a row of dining establishments right beside W Hotel.

Miska Cafe is the colourful Mediterranean cafe in this row of dining establishments. I was so charmed by the colourful Turkish lamps they have around the place. More importantly,  in front of the cafe is a waterfront promenade where you see many expats from nearby villas and condos or guests from W Hotel strolling.

Wow!  Miska Cafe has a very, very extensive menu.  The menu has all-day breakfasts, starters, grilled meat, seafood, salads, pasta, waffles, wraps.  You are guaranteed to find something you like.  I was told the menu was designed by Chef Lester.  Before moving to Singapore three years ago, Chef Lester has 6 years of experience in Dubai fulfilling the most demanding desires of Dubai’s richest and most elite.  No wonder the dishes served here are all stellar.  Also, I was so satisfied to find that all the portions are huge for an Asian appetite.  I can’t imagine an Asian going away from here and still be hungry.

Stella Artois S$9

Beer + waterfront view + warm afternoon = heaven!

ALL DAY BREAKFAST

Scrambled Egg On Toast S$15

Toasted rye bread, beetroot and cottage cheese, baby spinach, cherry vine tomato, alfa alfa sprout, chilli jam

STARTERS

Hummus S$13

Pureed chickpeas, tahini, lemon, garlic drizzled with extra virgin oil served with pita bread

The hummus was really creamy.  The pita bread and the hummus are both delicious.  I am really pleased I ordered this.

Green Pea Falafel S$13

Falafel ball served with tomato salsa and beetroot tahini puree

This starter was amazing.  Though deep fried, it was not at all greasy.  It was filling and satisfying.  I soooooo wished I had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc to go with this.  Falafel ball + sauvignon blanc + waterfront view + warm afternoon = heavenly heaven!

GRILLED MEAT

Prime Ribeye Steak S$42

250 grams grilled prime ribeye steak served with rocket potato salad and mixed sauteed vegetables, pepper sauce

The steak arrived sooooo aromatic, thanks to the copious amount of herbs.  The sauces were delicious!

PIZZA
Supreme Pizza S$23

Tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, chicken sausage, bacon, mushroom, red/ green capsicum and black olives

This pizza was delicious!  It felt light and warm.  It would be a very good warm appetiser.  It was not greasy and sickening like the pizzas from chain pizza stores.  I was told by the staff that Miska Cafe makes their own dough for their pizzas and wraps.  Indeed, the most delicious thing about this pizza was the dough.  It was very light.

RICE BOWL

Salmon Rice Bowl S$23

Coconut rice or butter rice, grilled salmon fillet, baby spinach salad, red onion, mango tomato salsa, sour cream, lemon wedge

This bowl was truly amazing.  The butter rice was aromatic and I just felt like eating and eating.  The salmon was a huge chunk and beautifully grilled.  The baby spinach added crunch and freshness. The salsa added zing.  It was perfect all round.

Black Americano Float S$8

Double shot espresso, water, ice, topped with vanilla ice cream and sugar syrup on the side

So, dear Diary, that is how I spent the most lovely afternoon at Quayside Isle, Sentosa Cove.
