Octapas, Singapore 2 Sept 2014

Octapas is a relaxed restaurant in the lively dining and entertainment hotspot of Clarke Quay. It is located right next to Singapore River.

Octapas offers several types of Sangria:

Red Blooded (Traditional) SGD$15.50

I recommend the red as it tastes the most authentic.

Great White SGD$15.50

Sparkling SGD$15.50

Tostadas (served on toasted bread) Aubergine, Peppers, Onion & Parmesan Cheese Gratinated SGD$9.50
Cheesy, appetising. The mixture of the flavour of pepper and cheese is a winning combination

Tomato Salad with Avocado, Feta Cheese & Coriander SGD$12
Surprisingly, this is the winner of the lot. It is light, zesty and refreshing.

Bacon-wrapped Tomato, Prawns Onion Confit SGD$16.50
Firm prawns wrapped in salty bacon, excellently balance by balsamic vinegar.

Grilled Squid Balsamic Vinegar SGD$16
With such a simple dish, the freshness of the seafood is paramount. I am happy to report that the squid is white and firm.

Grilled Lamb Cutlets with Mint Dipping Sauce SGD$25
This dish is great. There are three lamb cutlets, so it is great value for money. The cutlets are served on a bed of golden, pan-fried potatoes. The lamb is very tender and seared to medium perfection. The sauce is rich, but also refreshing, thanks to the mint.

It is great to relax in this restaurant by the river on a hot day and indulge in the authentic tapas.

The nearest subway station is Clarke Quay station and it is just 5 minutes away on foot.
