Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC)

Prince Hotel has been rebranded as Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre and the hotel has undergone an extensive facelift.  I last stayed here in 2015.

The executive club room is absolutely sexy.  Think cyan,  cool grays,  neutral tans, sleek lines and lots of metal and mirrors. The room is very complete—- it even comes with an ironing board and a big umbrella.  Best of all,  there is an espresso machine in the room.  They are attentive to details and have not neglected to provide decaf capsules.  I absolutely adored the CO Bigelow toiletries provided.  They smell as good as L’occitane and do not contain silicon, paraben nor gluten.

The corridors have been redesigned too.  The walls are highlighted by strips of sexy purple mod lighting.  Walking down a corridor I sense the excitement and sexual tension,  like I am about to consummate an affair here.  That is a good feeling!

The executive club on the 4th floor seems to have been expanded—- it seems larger than when I was last here. Pop art of Malay women/ dancers adorn the walls.

Executive club guests enjoy the following privileges:

  • Personalised check-in and check-out at Level 4
  • Complimentary 3 pieces of laundry per room per day (except Dry-cleaning, Express Service, and non-cumulative)
  • One hour usage of our Private Meeting room per stay (suject to availability)
  • Refreshments throughout the day at the Club Lounge
  • Breakfast at the Club Lounge
  • Contemporary stations with a la carte options from 06:30am to 10:30am (11:00am on weekends and Public Holidays)
  • International breakfast buffet at Sedap Restaurant, Level  1
  • From 06:30am – 10:30am (11:00am on weekends and Public Holiday)
  • business Centre available at Club Lounge, Level 4

They have expanded their offering too:  they now offer a simple afternoon tea from 12pm to 4pm. I thought that was quite something.  As far as I know, in KL, only Shangri-la offers an afternoon tea in their executive club lounge.  The club lounge is popular with execs—- some stay all afternoon tapping away at their laptops.  I can see the appeal—- there is something very comfortable about the chic living room ambience here.

In the evening, from 6-8pm,  there is a cocktail hour (free flow of cocktails,  wines and small bites).  The club lounge staff quickly, politely, tirelessly go round to fulfil the requests of a full house.  Their service impressed me a lot.

As with my last visit back when it was Prince Hotel,  the most outstanding and unforgettable thing about this hotel is its service.  Imagine a hot afternoon and a doorman who has been standing in the heat for who knows how long.  I approached,  with my tattered T-shirt, faded jeans, dirty backpack and a scowl from a difficult journey.  I certainly don’t look rich.  The doorman saw me from a distance and immediately got in place to await me and open the door for me.  Now that’s service!

After the renovation, they now have 2 new F&B outlets: Red (Chinese restaurant)

and The Junction.

Sedap, the all-day dining restaurant is still around from Prince days.

In short, in this hotel, the room is good, the F&B is remarkable, the service is top-notch.
