Artemis, Singapore

Artemis Singapore is an immensely popular restaurant.  Make your reservation!

I dined at Artemis Singapore on an ordinary Tuesday night and the restaurant was running near full capacity.

It is not hard to see why.  Located just a few steps away from Raffles Place subway station, the restaurant is perched 40 floors atop CapitaGreen, Singapore’s most iconic green landmark.

Whether you dine in the fully air-conditioned restaurant or kick back a few handcrafted cocktails at the semi-outdoor bar, you are assured of stunning panoramic view of the Singapore skyline and Marina Bay.

Artemis Singapore is a Mediterranean restaurant. Currently helmed by Brit Chef Oliver Hyde who possesses extensive 3 Michelin star experience, the menu features a lot of seafood and organic green produce prepared in a light, healthy way.

Bay Scallops S$30

Sweet Pea Puree, Crispy Pork Belly, Baby Watercress Salad, Pork Jus

So many different flavours on one plate. The most ingenious move was the sweet pea puree.  The dash of green colour really stood out on the plate the muted sweetness was a lovely counterpoint to the slight zest of the scallops.

Seared Boston Lobster S$32

Raspberry & Mango Salsa, Lobster Reduction.

While the use of the salsa paired with a protein is nothing original, this starter simply work, works, works.  This proves once again, why fix something if it isn’t broken?

Chargrilled Spanish Octopus S$29

Chorizo, White Bean Cassoulet, Kombu

I was hesitating if I should go for a cold appetiser but the first taste of this immediately convinced me I had made the right choice.  This was easily the best dish of the evening.  The octopus had a lovely, inimitable chargilled favour and the white beans added interest to the texture.

O’ Connor Striploin 300g S$60

Chimichurri, Mesclun Salad

Simply and elegantly presented on white china and accompanied by only chimichurri, I loved the presentation. I thought I was in a New York steakhouse. The steak reminded me of the one Anne Hathaway ran to get for Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada.

Though the steak already comes with a Mesclun Salad, you might want to get a few side dishes as well (you know, just to taste the greatness of this restaurant)

Fried Fingerling Potatoes S$27

Ricotta, Sherry Dressing, Australian Winter Truffle

Charcoal-cooked Leeks S$14

Saffron & Orange Dressing, Capers

How about rounding off your meal with Yellow Peach Crumble S$16?

Honey & Ricotta, Almond Crumble, Vanilla Ice-cream
