Rendezvous Hotel is an excellent business and leisure hotel right in the heart of Singapore’s shopping belt, Orchard Road.

Business guests staying at the Rendezvous can opt for the newly refurbished Club rooms. Spread over 3 floors, you can choose from 3 different designs for the Club room, whether it is Peranakan, Retro or Performing Arts. The refurbished Club room is quite incredible. A sense of peaceful tranquility is instilled through the calming tones of tan, grey and pine. In the bathroom, they have provided hip French Connection toiletries. Surprisingly, there is no bathtub (just a shower stall). Also, they do not provide a turn down service. There are 20+ channels on the television including 6 local channels.

The best part about staying in any hotel’s club room is that you get to enjoy afternoon tea and evening cocktails in the club lounge. In Rendezvous Hotel, the club lounge is located on the 11th floor, the highest floor. From the club lounge, you get to see the dome of the National Museum as well as enjoy Singapore’s city skyline. From 2-5pm every day, in the club lounge you get to enjoy the following bites (the hotel calls it comfort food):

From 6-8pm, you get to enjoy free flow cocktails, mocktails, house pour red wine and white wine. Along with your drinks, you can also pick from the small selection of canapes such as Dim Sum, Steamed Chicken Pao (Chinese bun), Fried Chicken Nuggets, Fried Potato Wedges. There is also fruit, cheese and desserts.

And if all that food is not enough, the hotel has plenty of food options. Straits Cafe provides buffet lunch and dinner. The Courtyard offers aromatic teas, coffees, delicate finger sandwiches, as well as a variety of dainty cakes and exquisite pastries.

In the lobby is The Library which offers lounge music, designer displays, and a selection of premium wines, spirits and beers.

Right opposite the hotel is an air-conditioned food court, where you can try really inexpensive local and international cuisine, such as Japanese, Korean, Mexican etc. A few doors away from the food court is a 7-eleven, so you need not worry if you have late night hunger pangs and you don’t feel like ordering room service. There is also an Irish pub and Wendy’s (the fast food joint) next to the food court. If you need chain caffeine, there is a Starbucks 2 mins away in The Cathay (a shopping mall). In the basement of The Cathay is Popeye Fried Chicken.

Rendezvous Hotel is ideally located between the shopping belt of Orchard Road, Suntec exhibition halls and the exhibition halls and casino at Marina Bay Sands. The hotel is located between 2 subway stations——Dhoby Ghaut and Bras Basah. You can start your shopping spree by walking to The Cathay or Plaza Singapura. Further away, but also within walking distance is Somerset Station, There are many malls at Somerset Station. Two subway stations away, at Orchard Station, are even more malls. Suntec, Marina Bay Sands are just 5-7 min taxi ride away. Raffles Place is a 10 min taxi ride away. From Dhoby Ghaut, you can also very easily reach Universal Studios and other attractions on Sentosa.

Ironically, though located between Orchard Road and Suntec, Rendezvous’s immediate neighours are 2 campuses—- Singapore Management University (SMU) and School of The Arts (SOTA). Come weekday afternoons, these kids in their trendy colourful outfits amble by and talk about the most inane things —–“What?? Professor X (from X-men) is a woman?!!!” With these youngsters ambling about, the vicinity of Rendezvous takes on a youthful feel. Also, the presence of these campuses gives rise to businesses after the varsity dollar, such as Burger King, Subway, as well as this pancake shop. Not to worry, Singaporean students are very well-behaved. With 2 campuses as its neighbor, unsurprisingly, a lot of academics stay at the Rendezvous.
