Supreme Halal Modern European Dining @ Restaurant Espoir, Singapore

Supreme in Décor: Supreme in Taste

Restaurant Espoir serves refined European cuisine with a Southeast Asian influence.  In line with its upscale, fine-dining image, Restaurant Espoir serves halal, award-winning alcohol-free wine.

While the cuisine here is excellent, the décor is like an Interior Design magazine come to life.  Think calming greens, pinks, and blues accented with gold and wainscoting all around.

Altina Sparkling Glass $15 Bottle $68

Canberra Australia

Crafted only with native Australian botanicals with no added sugar

Le Blanc Australian forestberries & Tart Apple Semi-dry

The fruitiness certainly comes through. The fruitiness is a good accompaniment to the slightly greasier dishes such as Vol au Vent and Crab Croquette.

Vol Au Vent $22

Puff Pastry, Creamed Chicken, XO Sauce, carrots, celery, onions

The puff pastry is warm, buttery and flaky. It is delicious. The saltiness of the XO sauce gives it a distinctive punch. You are sure to remember this Vol au Vent.

Pan Seared Scallops $26

Hokkaido scallops, butternut reduction, Avruga, Caviar, Coriander Lime Emulsion

The Hokkaido scallops are thick and so satisfying to eat. They have been seared to have a texturally stimulating crust. The butternut reduction is sweet, provide an attractive and welcome orange pop of colour.

Crab Croquette $24

Blue swimmer crab, cream, onions, kaffir lime mayo

This was outstanding! The crust was crispy.  The flavours (spices) were extremely harmonious

Spiced Fish & Chips $34

Wild caught hake, tempura batter, Espoir spice blend, sidewinders, mushy peas

The hake is light and entices you to eat more. So does the spice blend. I am gratified to see they actually bother to mush up the peas as opposed to serving the peas straight up—- they take care of the details

Beef Stroganoff $26

Assorted mushroom, cream, slice striploin, yoghurt, Thai sweet basil, Pappardelle

Creamy and satisfying.

Matcha Moelleux $15

Matcha Moelleux, quince paste, almond crumble, earl grey gelato

This is like a “matcha lava cake”.  The hot lava pairs well with the cooling earl grey gelato.

Roasted Pistachio Café Latte $8

The pistachio flavour is light and delicate.  It augments rather than compete with the coffee.

This is Halal fine dining at its best!
