文东记是新加坡知名的餐馆,在全岛各处售卖鸡饭和中式料理。 什么是鸡饭? 鸡饭是一道清蒸鸡或烧鸡配着米饭和生切黄瓜一起吃的食品。有别于用清水煮的白米饭,鸡饭的米饭最好是用鸡汤烹煮过。吃的时候,鸡肉通常会沾着黑酱油或辣椒酱一起吃。 文东记在鸡饭界中可说是享有盛名。就连来自香港和台湾的明星来新时都会特地到访。所以我就打算到文东记位于加东的分店去尝尝到底它是否浪得虚名。靠近海滩和机场的加东处于新加坡的东部,是好吃人士的美食基地。 我点了一人份的白切鸡(新币四元) 和米饭(新币五角). 当我询问餐馆是否有小份的青菜做配菜时,精明的服务生说店里最小份的清炒蔬菜是七块新币,而且适合一人食用。但青菜端上来时,分量足以三至四人一同分享。 坦白说,鸡肉很平凡。不特别嫩滑,给的分量也不特别大方。至于米饭,我肯定有在别处吃到更好吃,高汤味更浓厚的米饭。相比之下,这里的米饭平淡无奇。 在新加坡,鸡饭是个极为普通的佳肴,甚至可称为新加坡的国民美食。到处都可见到售卖鸡饭的摊位,只需花新币四元就可以舒适地在各处的冷气食阁享用到一盘鸡饭。换句话说,文东记之所以价格偏高是因为它在美食界的的声誉。 严格来说,一盘好吃的鸡饭,关键就在于它的辣椒酱。这盘起着成败作用的辣椒酱,第一,一定要够辣,而且必须有妙不可言的美味。但文东记所提供的辣椒酱却十分普通。 此外,文东记也会供应小菜一碟(新币一元) 和湿纸巾一份(新币五角)。但若你不想食用或使用这些附加品的话,就在用餐前通知服务生,费用就不会记录在总账单中。 若撇开鸡饭的水准和“狡猾”的服务生不说,文东记所提供的服务是十分快捷的。一进门,服务生就立刻欢迎你,引领你到座位上。虽然在新加坡是个著名的餐馆,但服务员并不高傲,还是会谦卑地招待到访的顾客。 既然能在别处吃到相较于,甚至是更好的鸡饭,这里就不提供文东记的地址和联络方式了。不妨可以到任何一间食阁或是小贩中心寻找更好吃的鸡饭吧!
