Sights in Lujiazui, Shanghai
Oriental Pearl Tower
Set against the city backdrop, the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower, likened to pearls dropping onto the jade plate, adorns the majestic Huangpu River. Standing at 468 meters (1,536 feet) tall, the tower houses a space gallery, two viewing halls and an exhibition hall. Right in the highest sphere at 351 meters (1,152 feet), visitors are welcomed into the space capsule gallery by an astronaut. The middle sphere at a height of 259 meters (850 feet) boasts the best 360 degree view of the whole city. Take that one step further, have a walk through the glass- bottomed corridor and enjoy the views from top down. The lower sphere at 90 meters (295 feet) is the best place to take in the grace of the Huangpu River. To fully appreciate about Shanghai’s history and development throughout time, visit the museum at the base of the tower.
